Beth Gibbons, lead singer of British band Portishead, is lending something invaluable to Greenpeace. Her voice.
The singer recorded a roar for Greenpeace’s giant polar bear which is going on a debut protest march in London this weekend. The bear, named Aurora, is the size of a double-decker bus. In addition to Gibbons’ roar, the bear will play other sounds from its sound system including Arctic wildlife.
Aurora’s march through central London will be part of a global day of action including a global bike ride to mark the upcoming sea ice minimum reports which will surely sound the alarm on Arctic sea ice melt.
